PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
She has advanced the work of the American Folk Art Museum (AFAM), American Foundation for The University of the West Indies (AFUWI), Bedford-Stuyvesant Gateway Business Improvement District (Bed-Stuy BID), Brooklyn Metropolis Lions Club (BMLC), Brooklyn Museum of Art (BMA), Central Park Conservancy (CPC), Go On Girl Book Club (GOG), the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF) and START Treatment Center; by producing events that attracted prospects and engage donors, creating strategic alliances with corporations and stakeholders, and positioning each organization in the philanthropic community.

Monique consults with non-profit leaders, Presidents, CEOs, Executive Directors and Board Members, committed to:
Strengthening their organization’s philanthropy by building a strong fundraising infrastructure to ensure maximum impact
Incorporating specially curated events into their portfolio
Reinvigorating an existing event to reengage donors and stakeholders and hosting 6-or-7 figure events to ensure their non-profit is fiscally sound.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
Monique finds ways to give back. As a dedicated community advocate she provides support to the Community Leadership Council Board of Kingsbrook Medical Center in her role as Vice Chair. Kingsbrook is recognized for its role in the formation of One Brooklyn Health – a new health care system that will include an extensive primary and ambulatory care network and programs to address social determinants of health. She also supports Crown Heights Service Center, a leading out-of-school provider for 40+ years and home of the Crown Heights Institute for Leadership Development (CHILD), Brooklyn Metropolis Lions Club, which operates under the auspices of Lions Clubs International, a global service organization with more than 1.4 million members worldwide and the NAACP Brooklyn, New York Chapter. Recently (April 2023) Monique was one of the newest members to join the Brooklyn Community Foundation’s Brooklyn Elders Fund.
Monique has been married to Stan E. Walker for the past 36 years. Stan is a principal, career educator and mentor who has worked with the New York Department of Education for 35 years. They live in Brooklyn, New York.
